On May 20th join us for an afternoon and evening of yoga classes, wellness speakers, and artists as we experience Art of Being.  All proceeds go to Planned Parenthood and Sanctuary Art Center.

All yoga classes are a $20 donation.  All sessions with presenters are free and open to the public.  All proceeds will be donated.

For yoga classes, please register online.  Be sure to select from the drop down menu on the brown paper ticket page the class you want to attend.  Please only register for classes if you can attend.

About the Event

We are thrilled to come together with love, compassion, and hope in support of two critical organizations.  We support Planned Parenthood and Sanctuary Art Center as a way of reflecting our values of Art & Wellness.  Planned parent provides vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.  Sanctuary Art Center provides a safe, warm and calm environment for homeless and street involved youth to experience creativity and success through the use of various artistic media.

Art of Being is an event to remind us that life is art.  Too often we get stuck on the notion that art is something created outside of ourselves.  To me, art is being created with each breath, each thought, each movement, each moment of Stillness.  Discovering the dynamic art that life is opens us up to spontaneous healing, personal and spiritual cultivation and greater understanding of nature.  Then we can know that there are no lines between art, medicine, self and life.

Class & Presenter Details

Yoga Classes (room 1)
2:30 - 3:30 pm Slow Flow with Jodi Boone
The first class of the day will be a Meditative Flow. During this session you'll be guided through a full yoga practice, in a way that cultivates a meditative mind. During the session, Jodi will infuse the class with yoga philosophy and breath work, helping you to relax and regain a sense of balance and groundedness.  Space is limited.  

3:45 - 4:45 pm Myth and Movement with Terilyn Wyre
In this class we will infuse the ancient art of storytelling with mindful vinyasa to delve deeper into our practice of self discovery.  Expect a heart opening practice available to all levels.  Space is limited.  

5:00 - 6:00 pm Weaving Light with Jeff Wildenstein
Jeff leads an energetic practice set to a soundtrack that gives you permission to sink into your flow. His classes are devotional yet dynamic and diverseā€¦bold yet introspective, weaving progressive sequencing rooted in alignment. The nature of his class compels practitioners to a sweet spot of intensity where the mind becomes focused, the breath deepens and the mirror awaits. This is an all levels class.  Space is limited. 

6:30 - 7:45 pm  Inner Sound Yoga Bath with Nicole Bratt & Amber West
Join Nicole Bratt & Amber West as they as they draw the Art of Being event to a close with an offering of gratitude, healing, and deep relaxation: a 75-min restorative yoga sound bath. This Restorative yoga practice integrated with an immersive crystal bowl sound bath will explore the energetic union of breath, body, mind, and sound during long-held, passive asana.  Restorative yoga intentionally calms your nervous system, allowing you to wholly relax and to simply be. Among its benefits are improved sleep, digestion, and blood pressure, as well as lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. The sound bath creates strong, resonant vibrations that further facilitate rest, healing, and transformation on an even deeper energetic level by allowing the body and mind to release stuck patterns and blocks. The cumulative experience enhances and harmonizes your overall wellbeing.  Space is limited. 

  • No yoga experience is necessary; simply come with the willingness to be still and present with yourself.
  • Dress in layers, and bring an eye mask/cover.
  • Mats are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Poet/performer Elizabeth Austen gathers and gives voices to a diverse array of poems to inspire the spirit of resistance and resilience.

3:30 - 4:00 pm Dr. Anup Mulakaluri, Ayurveda:  A Culture of Wellbeing
Ayurveda, the science of life, gives us the language and knowledge that penetrates to depths of the soul.  The 5 elements reveal the inner forces that shape our experience.  They help us understand our true nature; and realize our self as part and product of nature.  Ayurveda calls us to harness our power to cultivate health and wellness through nature.

4:00 - 4:30 pm Allison Hays, I am Fabulous
Some of the most powerful allies for your body, mind and spirit are Essential Oils. Most of us know there is no separation between the body, mind and spirit. So if you're on a journey of wellness, looking at your emotional health is a must.  Together we will address the most common emotional challenges that people face every day. The purpose of these essential oil blends is to empower you to become your best self, and move gracefully through your life, no matter what the circumstances. You'll get to apply specific essential oils to acupuncture points as you learn a protocol to remove blockages.  

4:30 - 5:00 pm Meg Agnew, Qi Gong: Flow with Energy
Have a taste of this ancient practice as we focus on movements that enhance vitality and increase spinal suppleness and flexibility.
